Laura Cook graduated from WKU in August 2003 with an Associate of Science degree in Healthcare Information Systems. She is currently pursuing her Bachelor of Science degree in Health Information Management with the University of Cincinnati. Ms. Cook is a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) and Certified Professional Coder (CPC). She previously worked as a Coder/Team leader for four years with Graves Gilbert Clinic. Ms. Cook is a member of the American Health Information Management Association and American Academy of Professional Coders. She is a co-advisor for Phi Beta Lambda and is a professional member. Ms. Cook serves as a Big Sister for the Big Brothers and Big Sisters Program. Ms. Cook began her employment with the Bowling Green Technical College in August 2007 as a Business Studies Instructor. In October 2008, she was appointed as the Medical Information Technology Program Coordinator for the Business Studies Department.
Janel Doyle attended the Bowling Green Technical College, where she earned a secretarial diploma and a General Occupational and Technical Studies Associate of Science Degree. In 1989, she began employment at the Bowling Green Technical College as an Administrative Assistant for the College Director. In 1992, Mrs. Doyle began teaching continuing education classes at the Bowling Green Technical College and at the General Motors Corvette Plant. While serving as an Administrative Assistant and as a part-time continuing education instructor, she attended Western Kentucky University as a part-time student. In August 2002, she began teaching classes in the Business Studies Department of the Bowling Green Technical College. In December 2005, Mrs. Doyle graduated from Western Kentucky University in with an Associate of Arts degree in Office Systems Technology and a Bachelor of Science degree in Vocational Education. In August 2006, she was appointed as the Office Systems Technology Program Coordinator for the Business Studies Program. Mrs. Doyle has been a professional member of Phi Beta Lambda and the Kentucky Association of Career and Technical Education for many years. She has been an active member on the Faculty Senate where she has served as an officer (Secretary and Vice Chair) for several terms. Recently, she began volunteering as a “big sister” in the Big Brothers/Big Sisters program.
Susan Harmon graduated from Western Kentucky University (WKU) with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business and Marketing Education (Area of Concentration) including a minor in CIS (Computer Information Systems). Her work experience includes insurance receptionist, sales clerk, administrative assistant, and created programs in Access plus five years teaching experience in Business Studies. Mrs. Harmon also serves as co-advisor for Phi Beta Lambda and a professional member. She has taught Junior Achievement at Warren Elementary and Drakes Creek Middle School. She serves as a big Sister for the Big Brother/Big Sister program. Mrs. Harmon is currently working on her master’s degree. Patti Sumner graduated from Western Kentucky University (WKU) with a Bachelor of Science degree in Distributive Education (Area of Concentration) including 31 undergraduate business-related hours. Mrs. Sumner also obtained a Master of Arts in Education from WKU plus a Rank I in School Guidance. She was the 2005-2006 recipient of the New Horizon’s Faculty Award of Excellence and Faculty Excellence Award (2006) from the National Institute of Staff Organization and Development (NISOD). Her work experience includes insurance receptionist, insurance claims and renewal clerk, and insurance salesperson plus over 20 years teaching experience in Marketing Education and Business Studies. Mrs. Sumner also serves as Business Division Chair which consists of the Business Studies Department and Culinary Arts Department. She is also a professional member of Phi Beta Lambda and National Business Education Association.
