COURSE PURPOSE

This course is designed to prepare the nurse aide to provide direct patient care under the supervision of licensed nurse personnel.

COURSE LENGTH

The nurse aide course consists of seventy-five (75) hours. Fifty-nine (59) hours are spent in classroom and laboratory followed by sixteen (16) hours in a clinical setting supervised by the instructor.

After satisfactory completion of the course, the nurse aide will be eligible to take the competency evaluation.

After satisfactory completion of the competency evaluation, KCTCS, Technical College Branch shall forward to the registry, the nurse aide’s name and social security number to be maintained on the registry.
